Ghost ! What are they?

Everybody has heard the word Ghost, but does everybody know what a Ghost is?
There are various of explanations about ghosts. My explanation is since i beleive that the Spirit is eternal and only dwells in a "container" for a while hence when they "die" "leave" the container so to speak the spirit that is named Ghost is wandering between dimensions , lost in a metaphysic energyfield , due to Karma.
But I would love to hear ýour explanations and what you think it is.

This link may help, but l think they are the ones who do not know they are dead, or evil spirits that refuse to except death. l think also that some can be a guide. l think there are many forms of a ghost. Some being good and some being bad. Just like we have different people here on earth.
