Midsummer's Eve/Litha/Feill-Sheathain/Alban Hefin/Gwyn Canol Haf
The Summer Solstice is the longest day of the year falling circa June 22 when the Sun enters Cancer (this year June 20, 2008 00:00 (7:00pm EDT)). This is the time of celebrating the Earth's bounty. The God is vibrant and at the peak of his power and the Goddess is fertile and pregnant. This reflects in our fertile gardens, brimming with life and and the fruits of our labor. The Sun is bright and strong. Animals in nature have established families they are showing off to the world. Midsummer is a celebration of the Earth and all she provides for us, also known as Litha after an ancient European fertility Goddess. This is also time sacred for the Fae and is one of the days one can see the them (keep a sprig of rue in your pocket so they don't lead you away!!)...This is the time when the Oak King and Holly King battle for supremacy again, Holly King emerges triumphant this time around, they meet again at the Winter Solstice when the Oak King shall prevail.

Welcome to Witchunknown Coven. I will try to explain what Wicca is and what it is not. Mind you this is not easy since the religion itself is based on pre christian traditions in England and near areas . First of all Wicca is not just a religion , for me and I am sure for many others ,it is a whole lifestyle, both physical and spiritual.It is a Journey that starts within and I am almost certain that it ends within as the circle close. In Wicca we do have "witches" and "Sorceres" but neither of us are "satanic". In fact , Wiccans don´t believe in Satan.
All life is spiritual and it is a constant flow of negativity and positivity , call it white and black light , some call this Yin and Yan. The key to have a fullfilling life weither you are a witch or not is to sustain a balance between these "white" and "black" lights.
Being a Wiccan I believe in the Law of threeas mentioned in the Wiccan Rede,"Do what you will but harm none". All you send forth comes back three fold by Body,Spirit and Mind.Therefore is no use in casting evil spells or curses at anyone.
The spirit of Ancient Gods and Godesses is very much alive . They are in Every Plant, Every seed, Every tiny piece of Sand . They are the Air that you breathe and the Water you drink.Wiccans "worships" and follows many Gods and Godesses, mostly the ones they come to be familiar with during rituals and studying folklore and theology , mythology etc. We celebrate the 8 sabbats each year as a dedication to life , nature and The Divine. These Sabbats are based on the cycles of the Sun and the Moon, we call it the Wheel of the Year . The Elements Air , Water, Wind and Fire combines together and manifests all creation of life and each living creatures spirituality. Blessed Be
